The Baucom MTAC used data from our program assessment to choose two Focus Areas for the 2018/19 School Year. These areas are Equity & Cultural Competency and Budget & Resources.
A strong school library program displays a commitment to inclusiveness and respect for diversity that is embodied in its policies, instruction, programming, materials, and pedagogy. This includes ensuring access, amplifying historically marginalized voices, and promoting literature and informational texts that reflect the lives, experiences, and interests of all students.
Over the course of the 18/19 academic year, we will utilize collection development resources from Mackin and Convergence sessions about diverse book titles to recommend library book purchases.
Over the course of the 18/19 academic year, our MTAC members will participate in the school-wide study on Equity and Diversity, including Socio-Emotional Learning trainings.
A strong school library program consistently invests in resources, both print and digital, that align with school and community goals to support student learning.
Over the course of the 18/19 academic year, our MTAC members will get a fuller understanding of what technology is in our school building and what devices will migrate to Windows 10 Operating System. In addition, they will take a larger role in determining priorities and placement of technology.
Over the course of the 18/19 academic year, our media coordinator will attend Budget & Resources PLT sessions and advocate for new library materials to support our Focus on Equity and Diversity and for new technology in administrative, operational and educational areas.
