Mrs. Sarah Kronenwetter is an original Titan and was a founding teacher in 2018. Kronenwetter is a native to the Garner Community. She graduated from Meredith College with a degree in music education and concentration in voice. She is also a North Carolina Teaching Fellow, a member of NAFME (National Association of Music Educators) and a member of the music honors fraternity Pi Kappa Lambda. This year will begin Kronenwetter's thirteenth year of teaching. Mrs. Kronenwetter had the honor of being named South Garner High School's Teacher of the Year for the 2025 - 2026 school year!
Under Mrs. Kronenwetter's direction, South Garner High School's choral ensembles consistently score Superior ratings in Performance and Sight Reading at North Carolina Music Performance Adjudication and Spring Music Festivals. South Garner choral students also participate in North Carolina State Honors chorus, All Carolina Select 9th and 10th grade and 11th and 12th grade honor choirs, and sing at community events. Kronenwetter is also the vocal music director for the Spring Musicals at SGHS. In the Spring of 2023, she conducted the WCPSS Elementary All County Choir.
Prior to working at South Garner, Kronenwetter was an Elementary Music Specialist, Chorus and Piano Teacher at Fuller GT/AIG Basics Magnet Elementary in Wake County. While at Fuller, her students participated in All County Chorus, State Honors Chorus, and WCPSS Pieces of Gold Showcase. Kronenwetter has also worked as a church musician leading both youth and children's choirs. In 2017 she was a co-author of music education state wide curriculum with The North Carolina Symphony. Kronenwetter also has an extensive performing background and has held leading roles in both opera and musical theatre. Some of her favorite roles include: Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Patience in Gilbert and Sullivan's Patience, Polly in The Boyfriend, Cinderella in Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella, and Dorothy in The Wizard of Oz. She was also the winner of the Concerto/Aria Competition at Meredith College in 2012 and has been a National Regional NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) finalist. During her free time, Kronenwetter enjoys spending time with her husband, Billy and daughter, Mia.
