Unit 1: NC & US Geography

Monday, September 9: Students created their Social Contract for Social Studies to set norms and behaviors. Students reviewed NC + US map labeling as a class. HW: UNIT 1 QUIZIZZ DUE TONIGHT AT 8:30pm. Review for NC/US Map & Evaluating Sources Assessment

Tuesday, September 10: Students completed a group activity exploring North Carolina regions characteristics through a "Road Map of NC". HW: Assessment Friday, begin studying

Wednesday, September 11: Students completed notes on the Good, Bad, & Ugly of NC regions to understand challenge and opportunities that regions gave to those who inhabited the area. Students were introduced to their History of Me project in class. HW: History of Me Presentations Wednesday Sept. 18. Review for NC/US Map & Evaluating Sources Assessment

Thursday, September 12: Students evaluated primary and secondary sources through an activity to discover the true story of the March on Washington. HW: Study for assessment! History of Me due Wednesday, Sept. 18.

Friday, September 13: Students completed their NC/US Map & Evaluating Sources Assessment. Students worked on their History of Me project if they finished their assessment early. HW: History of Me Presentations are Wednesday, Sept. 18. Assignment must be completed by the beginning of class!
