That pretty much sums up kindergarten music class. I do a lot of moving and a lot of singing with the children. Both are such wonderful, positive ways to express emotions. We learn a lot of songs, ranging from how to remember the seasons of the year, to songs that let them be butterflies. We learn to count better, we learn animal names, we celebrate seasonal changes, we learn to share and we learn to express ourselves in a positive way. So much goes on! But it's all fun.
We learn how to read some simple notation by the end of the year, but we also learn to recognize elements of music such as tempo, dynamics, high and low pitches, rhythm patterns and steady beat.
Not only will I post items here which will be geared toward Kindergarten, but on the tab "Links to Expand Your Musical Mind" you will find a variety of interesting videos, TED Talks and links to other amazing sites! Of course, feel free to check out this entire site. To get the code for my Google Classroom and find information on how to see other Specials, check information sent from your child's teacher.
