School Closure Information

Parents,

Wake County Schools are closed until May 15. For now, students are asked to review skills using resources posted on the Wake County Website. Wake County is using the next two weeks to train teachers on Google Classroom, Google Meet and other platforms so that we can provide instruction starting April 13 (Spring Break is still scheduled for April 6-10). They are also trying to get laptops/mobile devices to students who may need them for remote learning. Please look for an email survey from our principal asking what your child may need at home at home, such as hotspot for connectivity, laptop, or mobile device. There are many families who have several students in schools that need to share devices. Many families also have parents that are now working from home using a computer. One computer/device may not be sufficient.

Please bare with me as I learn new skills to teach remotely. As you know, remote learning will look very different than face-to-face learning and our students will need much support as they participate. Some of our students may need to work with real objects to practice skills at home and may be confused by a new teaching format. With parent support, we will learn as we go and we will provide instruction to the best of our ability.

Your child will need their WakeID user name and password to access Wake County Resources and Google Classroom. I will email your child's information to you. For the next 2 weeks, please use the resources that I have posted below to help your child practice and review skills.
