Teachers reflect on their practices.
Weekly PLT's
Once a week my team and I meet and professionally discuss how to help students, review and reflect on student data, and discuss other important and relevant information. We also take this time to meet with other staff members, including intervention and AIG, to discuss student progress and how to support our classrooms. This is a time of thoughtful reflection and asking and answering questions.
Kid Talk
Kid Talk is an important part of our PLT meetings. We use this time to have intentional and focused conversation about students and strategies to support them. We keep a running record of students who are being discussed and weekly updates on their progress.
Data Reflection
At the end of each quarter students take North Carolina check-ins in ELA, Math, and Science. The data collected from the NC check-ins each quarter drive our instruction and help my team set goals.
Professional Goals
At the beginning of each school year, I create a Professional Development Plan that includes the professional goals I strive to accomplish during the school year. These goals allow me to constantly reflect on my practice and challenge me to become a stronger educator.
