Homework for kindergarteners should reinforce our learning. Please read with your student daily. Listen to them read and let them use their strategies before helping them with difficult words. As you are reading, read the pictures, read the words and retell the story and ask what the text is about.
Please record the minutes your student reads on our PTA reading log- if you lose the log, extra copies may be downloaded from the Lynn Road site. (The URL is posted below.) You may also find useful websites and resources to use on our school website. These are in the "student" section.
For math homework, we are sending math sheets that support what we have already learned in class. Math sheets are for practicing the math skills that we have already taught/learned and are not graded.
Homework is not graded. PTA Reading Logs are turned in once a month until May.
Life experiences are important. Take time to talk to and listen to your student daily. Be encouraging- if they say they can't do something- please let them know that they can't "yet"- we all begin somewhere.
Please use Lexia and Dreambox to support your child at home.
