Expectations

Classroom Dojo:

Each classroom teacher has their own set of classroom rules and expectations, but we each use Classroom Dojo as a way to track and monitor daily student behaviors. Students will have many opportunities throughout each day to earn “Dojo Points” for example: transitioning quickly and quietly, helping a friend throw away trash at lunch, working hard, etc. When students are not following our classroom expectations they will lose a Dojo Point after they have been issued a verbal warning. I have detailed our list of consequences below. Each teacher awards students according to their dojo points a little bit differently, but dojo is our favorite way to recognize all of the amazing positive behaviors of our students.

We will also use ClassDojo to communicate with you: we can instantly share messages, updates and photos from class. It’s the easiest way for you to see how your child is doing at school and to get in touch with your child's teacher. We would love for all families to sign up for ClassDojo and join their class. You can use it on any device: it is a simple, free mobile app for iOS and Android, and can also be used from a computer at www.classdojo.com. Your child's teacher will be sending home and emailing a separate invitation that details exact steps on how both you and your student can join our class.

3rd Grade Consequences:

Level 1 - Verbal Warning

Level 2 - Loss of Dojo Point

Level 3 - Sent to a Buddy Room/Reflection Sheet

Level 4- Parent Contact

Level 5 - Office Referral

Social Contract:

At the beginning of the year, we will sit down as a class and create a list of agreed upon words and phrases for how we are all going to treat each other. This is something that students are expected to follow throughout the year.
