** You will need to be signed into a WCPSS account to complete the audition form!
Important Dates to Remember!
Auditions: Tuesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 15 (auditionees will only attend one audition day)
Callbacks: Thursday, October 16 (for select auditionees)
Dance Call: Friday, October 17 (for ALL auditionees)
Follow these steps to rock your audition!
Step One: Complete your audition form. It will help the team get to know you better and understand your interests, past experiences, conflicts, and more. Take your time filling out this form. Read each section. Be detailed and honest. Don't rush!
Step Two: Go to Ms. Kaz's room (6108) to sign up for an audition slot. Five minute audition slots will be available after school on Tuesday, October 14 and Wednesday, October 15. You will only have to stay after school the day of your audition slot and you can leave directly after your audition slot. Due to this, please sign up for the earliest slot possible.
Step Three: You will be required to select and prepare a 1 minute monologue in the style of the musical (i.e. classic, comedy) and 16-32 bars of a song in the style of the production from the options available on the Vocal Music Audition Material document.
**If you are struggling to find and select a monologue on your own, you can prepare one of these sample monologues.
Step Four: Select auditionees may be a part of callbacks on Thursday, October 16 from 2:45-4:30pm. These auditionees will be notified by email on Tuesday, October 15. If you are called back, please be prepared to read sides (short scenes) or sing additional music from the show. This will allow the director to see an actor's character choices and connections between different characters/actors, as well as allow the vocal music director to gauge an actor's vocal abilities for specific characters. Not all auditionees will be called back. IF YOU ARE NOT CALLED BACK, YOU ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED FOR THE COMPANY. Callbacks are just an additional opportunity for the director to audition actors that they need to see more from. Not being called back means that the director has made a decision about your casting and does not need to see more.
Step Five: All auditionees will be required to attend the dance call on Friday, October 17 from 2:45-4:30pm. This will allow our choreographer to see an actor's dance abilities and to select dance captain(s).
Step Six: Wait for the company list! It will be posted at the end of the school day on Friday, October 24. Please note that this is one week after the conclusion of auditions. Students who wish to receive feedback can contact the musical team using the advice from "The Company List is Up!" flow chart starting on October 27. Directors will not be sharing rubric scores, but will share specific and detailed feedback by email after casting.
