Acting I (Semester)
**Open to ONLY rising sixth grade students
Course Description: This course allows 6th grade students an opportunity to build their acting skills through the production of a short play. Students will study acting techniques, characterization, and technical theatre through the course of the production. The class culminates in a formal performance. Elective runs during the spring semester. **Application required
Drama Production (Advanced Theatre)
**Open to rising seventh and eighth grade students
Course Description: This ensemble for our most advanced theatre students studies advanced acting technique and produces multiple one act productions throughout the school year. **Audition required
How to Apply:
1) Complete the audition application form (linked below) & ask a teacher to be your recommender.
2) Sign-up for an audition slot on March 4 from 2:45-4:30 PM in Ms. Kaczmarek's Room
3) Select and prepare a 45-60 second monologue from a play or musical. Be prepared to perform in front of a small audience of peers!
4) Show up for your audition slot on March 4!
5) Wait for audition results to be released on March 27.
Lighting, Scenery, and Sound Design
**Open to rising seventh and eighth grade students
Course Description: This course is a yearlong class that works on all of the live productions at Ligon. We do lights, sound, sets, props, and all tech involved in the shows and concerts. Students have the opportunity work during class and after school on the performances. Come and find your place on the stage (or behind it)!!
