NC Honors Chorus

Every year, the State Middle School Honors Chorus is held in November, performing at the North Carolina Music Educators In-service Conference. This chorus provides an opportunity for the very best middle school singers from across the state to come together and work with a nationally acclaimed choral conductor. The Honors Chorus will take place on November 9 & 10 in Winston Salem. The final concert on November 10 will be held in the Stevens Center at the North Carolina School of the Arts. More info available but here’s the list of what a student needs to do immediately:

1. All students will have the opportunity to obtain and learn the audition piece. One after-school rehearsal on Sept 5th @ 2:30-4:30pm. Students must practice sight-reading during class.

2. Students will download the audio of the audition piece from the link below to practice on their own.

3. Ligon auditions for the state audition will be held during class on Wed, Sept 11th. $25 is also due this day for audition fees.

4. If you pass the Ligon audition, you'll continue to prepare for the regional auditions on: Wed, Sept 25th at Campbell University, 143 Main St, Buies Creek, NC 27506. Parents are responsible for transportation to/from the audition.
