  • Write a story that has a sequence. The story should include 2 or more details. Students should use sequence vocabulary such as first, then, next, and last.


  • Retell stories including key details (fiction)

  • Retell main topic and key details (non-fiction)

  • Ask and answer questions about fiction and non-fiction books

  • Reading includes books that you read to your child or books that your child reads to you.

  • Tap and blend cvc words. (consonant-short vowel-consonant words such as cat, dog, mat, bed, etc.)

  • Recognize and read consonant digraphs. Consonant digraphs include the sounds sh, th, ch, wh, & ck.

  • Count to 150

  • Understand that the 2 digits of a number represent the amount of tens and ones

  • Reading and writing numerals

  • Collecting and reading data (simple graphs and charts)

  • Solving addition and subtraction problems using strategies

  • Understand the importance of rules

  • Explain why rules are needed in the home, school and community

  • Classify roles of people in home, school, and community including teachers, principals, parents, government leaders, etc.

  • Understand how force (push and pull) affects motion

  • Explain the importance of a push or pull to change the motion of an object

  • Explain how forces make things move without touching (magnetism)

  • Explore the concept of balance

  • Predict the effect a force will have on an object, including balanced forces.
