Major Clarity Lesson # 1

Students will learn the basics of Major Clarity and will complete their personality assessment. Afterwards they will reflect on their results and what careers may fit their personality (at least 2 careers will be explored).

Effective for the 2024-2025 school year, state law requires students beginning in 8th grade to have a Career Development Plan. The plan must include an assessment of the student's career interests aligned with academic and extracurricular goals. WCPSS has selected MajorClarity as the tools for the development of the Career Development Plans in accordance with N.C. General Statute 115C-158.10.

Human Trafficking Lesson Plans

*Please email PFebres@wcpss.net if you would not like your child to participate in these lessons*

All WCPSS students in grades 7-9 will participate in a lesson on Human Trafficking, presented by members of the school Counseling and Student Services staff during one Healthful Living class period.  Students will participate in a survey to help staff in identifying high-risk pupils and referring them to assistance resources.

The district will honor passive consent regarding opting students out of this lesson.  Parents wishing to opt their student out of this lesson must do so in writing prior to the presentation of the lesson.

Students will go on Major Clarity and reflect on how to create a 4 year plan for High School. Students will then be asked to practice by entering courses they anticipate to take in High School

Independant and/or Small Group High School Registration Session

Students who were unable to complete their high school registration session in class or whom need to make any corrections will be pulled individually or as a group to register for their high school courses before the deadline.
