The Executive Board is our Student Body representatives, which consists of the President, Vice President, Communications Officer, Secretary, and Chief of Staff. Executive Officers must have at least one prior year of SGA experience, be seniors, and have leadership experience in another club or organization. Executive Officers apply to be on the Board, submit teacher recommendations, and complete an interview with the SGA Advisors. If there are multiple candidates approved for a role, they will be put to a vote through the Student Body (you!).
Additional Responsibilities Include:
Establishes vision and goals for HHS Student Body
Leads weekly and monthly SGA meetings
Represents students in admin, PTSA, SIP, and district meetings.
Coordinates with all departments and ensures progress on all major school events
Collaborates and communicates with the Yearbook Staff and Advisor
Manages SGA social media and website to promote student events
Publishes a Club Bulletin and Student Newsletters
Assists with student announcements
Approves final decisions, proposals, and budgets with advisors
Represents SGA and HHS in a positive manner at all events and activities
Leads organization by example with enthusiasm and leadership skills
The Cabinet consists of our event specific directors. These students represent the Student Body in their unique roles, and they lead committees to plan and execute events and activities for Heritage High School. Directors can be any grade from 10th-12th. They apply to be a Director, submit teacher recommendations, and complete an interview with the SGA Advisors. Director of Spirit & Events
Oversees Spirit Weeks, Pep Rallies, Theme Days, and VolleyBros
Leads Spirit Committee in planning school morale and engagement activities
Collaborates with Hooligans, Cheer, Athletics, and Admin for school-wide participation
Director of the InterClub Council Committee
Plans and leads ICC meetings
Reviews new club proposals and votes on which clubs we add
Helps clubs with event planning and communication
Organizes Club Fair and Club presence at Spring Conference Night
Director of Formal Events
Oversees Homecoming Dance and Prom
Coordinates with vendors (DJ, venue, photo booth, etc.)
Manages ticket pricing, design, sales, and logistics
Plans décor, theme, and day-of event details
Director of Service & Philanthropy
Manages “One School, One Cause” planning and execution
Approves and supports club fundraising efforts
Coordinates service initiatives and community partnerships
Director of Senior Affairs
Coordinates Senior Video, Senior Day, and Graduation duties
Attends senior-specific meetings
Gathers feedback from senior class and supports senior traditions
Speaks at senior class meeting
Plans senior gift
Each Director leads a committee of students in any grade, including 9th, that help execute their vision and complete tasks to improve efficiency within SGA. Committee members participate in monthly SGA meetings, vote on proposals, event ideas, or policy decisions, help with outreach to their grades, attend committee meetings, brainstorm, plan, and execute events or initiatives, communicate updates and feedback to their Director, and take on logistical roles. Committee members apply to be on a committee, submit teacher recommendations, and record a candidacy video to be reviewed by the SGA Advisors.
