Co-Ed (10 – 20 Years Old)
Exploring is a unique career exploration program for young men and women between 10 – 20 years old. The program provides students with an opportunity to learn about a wide variety of career fields and network with professionals already working in those fields. You get hands-on experience to determine whether or not a particular career field is right for you. You develop valuable contacts with professionals working in your selected career field, and you get to know other youth with your same interests and aspirations.
Exploring is the first step in identifying career possibilities – all while having fun in an exciting and informal environment.
2022 - 23 Opportunities outside of School
Current 7th graders at Dillard are invited to attend a summer camp being hosted by the Career Academy at our base feeder high school. The camp sites include Apex Friendship HS, Athens Drive HS, Enloe HS, and Southeast Raleigh HS.
The camp focuses on the design process, helping a family with Spinal Muscular Atrophy, and meeting with industry professionals as students create their prototype. Students who attended last year seemed to really enjoy the experience.
There are five total academies at the four schools and the total camp capacity is 72 students. The camp is from June 20-23, 2023. Transportation/food is being provided through a grant.
Deadline to apply: March 24th!
