2025 - Friday, May 9th
This will be set up like a typical career fair where students get to decide who to visit at different tables.
There will also be mock interviews for 8th graders.
Event Title: Career Day
Date: Friday May 9th
Time commitment: 4 hours - arrive about 7:45 - 8 and leave at 11:45.
Format: This is set up much like a job fair where each participant has a table with a display, and students can "browse" and check out your display and talk to you. It is advisable to have a "hook" - something to ask or tell students to get them interested in talking to you and a 1 - 2 minute pitch you can adjust as needed to give students an overview of your career. This is generally more interactive with students asking questions or you asking student questions and sharing relevant information.
The students of each grade will rotate among 3 speaker rooms in 15 minute chunks. There will be 10-12 minute breaks in between grades and light refreshments will be available.
If you cannot commit to the whole time, we can work out a smaller chunk of time to preset of to one or two grade levels.
Hispanic section: Because we have so many Spanish speaking students, we would like to include some speakers who can communicate in Spanish. Please let me know if this applies to you!
Magnitude of impact: All 950-1000 students will have the opportunity to talk to you.
Description of event: This is to share information about ALL careers, including trades, military, professionals and educational or training organizations as well.
