We had a team of four staff members participate in the WCPSS Convergence Session.
PTA funded several substitutes so some teachers could attend.
Our media coordinator participated in professional learning PLT sessions to find additional ways to share and connect our Professional Learning.
Our Media Coordinator created "How To" Tutorials for students to use as a guide as they created and modified portfolios, created digital projects, organized items to possibly add to their portfolios, and added items to their portfolios. Staff, students, and volunteers could access these tutorials in a variety of places including our Brassfield Destiny Homepage, Google Classrooms, emails, and the Brassfield Learning Commons Website.
Students and staff could use these tutorials in their classrooms, during media, and even at home.
Some teachers chose to have their students start their portfolios during media while others chose to have their students create them outside of media and then work on modify their portfolios or on projects to later add to their portfolios.
One of our MTAC members, Stephenie Albert, presented at Zest Tech Fridays about Student Portfolios. Some teachers of older students were able to partner with some younger classes. Older students helped the younger students create or modify their student portfolios.
A large number of our staff members chose supporting students in creating digital portfolios as one of their goals. Each of those teachers has evidences of how they worked toward that goal. Our Media Coordinator chose to have supporting staff members as they implement student portfolios as one of her goals. Consequently, she collaborated with teachers and grade levels on how to create and modify student portfolios as well as how to create materials to be added to student portfolios.
