Students can be nominated by parents or teachers for AIG testing during the fall (4th & 5th only) & spring testing (3rd - 5th) windows for AIG identification. Once referred, the School-Based Committee for Gifted Education (SBCGE) will review all relevant classroom data & scores to determine IF the data indicates a need for gifted services. 

The determinations are: 

• Referred for Further Evaluation (additional data is needed - CogAT & IOWA may be given)

• Not Referred (additional differentiated service is not appropriate at this time)

*Students already identified as AG, IG, or AIG do NOT need to be nominated as they are already identified. AIG identification(s) remain in place for each year the child is enrolled in WCPSS.

Fall Testing Window (CogAT & Iowa assessments) for Nominated 4th and 5th Graders: October 14, 2025 - October 28, 2025

Spring Testing Window (CogAT & Iowa assessments) for Nominated 3rd, 4th, and 5th Graders: January 20, 2026 - February 3, 2026
