@ Friendship we have 2 types of devices:

Chromebooks
Windows Devices
- Lenovo Laptops to borrow from your teacher's cart if you've forgotten or not charged your Chromebook
- Windows Desktops in some CTE classrooms

See below for how to login to each....

Chromebook logins

Our Chromebooks are black and have the Chrome symbol. They are already attached to the internet, you only need your WakeID to login.

Info for first-time logins to WakeID in WCPSS schools.

New - instead of lunch number the username aka WakeID name - first initial, middle, and last name - but check it in your files to make sure.

Choose Password Reset in WakeID Portal on Staff Laptop.

Choose "My Students" and scroll to their name or search in the search bar.

Click on their line and choose "Change Password" at the bottom.

Make this an easy generic password "welcome1" works well.

Leave the box checked so they'll have to change their password after they login.

Choosing a password:

Must be changed to something with a capital and number with 8 digits, never used before.
Can't be popular. Dirtbike50, Soccer88, TeddyDog1 were all turned down for a data breach
A phrase might be easiset.

Forgotten Wake ID Username or Password? OR student password not working?

8/26/25 Update - We're finding students MUST:

Restart the Chromebook after you've reset the password to make it work!
Login with their WakeID username, not their ID #.

Changing your own WakeID Password

Choose the icon with the Lock on Wake ID

Click in the top right corner

Follow the rules for changing the password.

Windows Lenovo Laptops / desktops

This is the login for the blue screen to get into the Windows Network.

Students will log into the school internet on these using your LUNCH NUMBER (also called Student ID) as your Username.

If you are new to WCPSS, your first login will be Lunch Number and Lunch Number, but it will remind you to change that password when you first login.

To Change your own Password on Windows11 Devices: Hit three buttons - CTRL-ALT-DELETE - at the same time and choose the "Change Password" option.

Scroll down to the next section to see how teachers can reset a forgotten password for you.

Once you login, you will open the Chrome web browser to login to WakeID.

On campus only: Within "My Computer," go to the Shared Drive to open the application.

My Computer > Shared (S:) > Groups > Staff > Student Password Reset (APPLICATION)

Network Login Problems

Trouble Logging into network (PC or Laptop)?

Make sure wifi is on by looking for wifi symbol. On computers, check ethernet cable in the back to make sure it is connected.
Make sure there are no spaces or cap locks with login.
Can another person login on this device? (This tells us if your account is disabled or your password is wrong.)
Get serial number shown below when you click on "login with another domain" (# needed for Heat Ticket)
Serial number might include "STAF" - on staff computers. Student computers don't have this. Students can't login on Staff laptops.

BYOD (Bring your Own Device)

Use the wifi labeled: WCPSS Guest. No login needed, just select. (No passing out Lunenburg Password).

Wifi-virtual.wcpss.net is the address for Guest Wifi to send “connect” message! BYOD students can type in this address if the wifi request doesn’t automatically come up, this happens on personal Chromebooks.
