Hotspot has a CIPA Compliant Filter - no streaming services will connect
You have unlimited streaming but... AT&T will slow down after 22 Gig, Verizon Hotspots will slow down when cell towers are busy, around 11 AM - 2 PM is the slowest time.
Verizon has been getting 30-35 mbs - more than enough for 5 kids to work online at the same time!
Only open the tabs you need for the class you are in. This will focus your bandwidth on those tasks.
Everyone using your hotspot or router is sending signal through that device, work to have your family share the bandwidth wisely.
Make sure the device is showing an IP address
if it's not showing an IP address, then that is the issue and they need to email help desk asap
Make sure in the MDM field they have their Phone Number
Restart the device and make sure the MDM phone number shows up
The device might need software update
press the menu button, and scroll through until you reach software update
First, so we know if it's your device or the internet causing the outage, are others in your house online? Do they use wifi or ethernet cable? The Ethernet cable can be any color, but the ends look like this. You need a port on you computer (many newer laptops don't have this) and then one on a wall that is working. We have spare ethernet cables at school. Email Mrs. Thrash. (ethrash@wcpss.net)
Make sure you're not in Airplane Mode. You can find this setting by looking for a button above the number keys, or in settings or control panel.
Does the wifi work at school? Then it might be your setup at home.
Make sure you're on your wifi instead of a neighbors.
To get on your wifi, ask for the name and password from a parent, it might have changed.
Plug in the router that sends the wifi to all the devices. If it looks on, it should have lights blinking. Next, Google the name of the router it is attached to, like the brand and model for directions. If you see no problem there, check for a status update online, we had AT&T down at my house recently and their website said, "these addresses are out." Mr. Thrash cut the line with a shovel a few months ago and ATT had to come and put a new cable in.
