Hello, my name is Mrs. Sandy Wallace, and I will be your child’s teacher this school year.  My goal in our classroom is to create an organized and loving environment where all students can continue to grow and learn.  A huge leap of learning occurs at this age and I want to foster the love for it all.  Building a classroom community where all feel valued is important and learning all the new lessons and concepts will be our fruit.  

A bit about myself. I have been a North Carolinian since I was 2.  I graduated from Apex High School and went on to get a Bachelor’s Degree from Brigham Young University-Idaho. I traveled a bit of the world before marrying my husband of 15 years. We started our family in Pittsburg, PA but had the opportunity to move to the Raleigh area 14 years ago and have loved raising our family back in this great state. I am a mom of four. I have one 10th grade daughter, 8th grade daughter, a  6th grade son and 4th grade son here at Ballentine. This is my third year teaching. I most recently taught second grade here at Ballentine for the second half of 2024-2025 year and before that, first grade at Carolina Charter Academy. I feel second graders are the absolute best age!  They are really blossoming in their ability to read and write and gaining independence in those abilities.  

A few of my hobbies are singing, baking, being out in beautiful nature with family, serving at our church, and reading books alone and with my children.   I love playing games and laughing.  I absolutely love kids and was a career nanny before and after having my own.  I can’t wait to get to know each student.
