Welcome to second grade! My name is Anne Barnes and I will be your child’s 2nd Grade teacher. First, I want to thank you for entrusting your child to me. I promise to work hard daily and be the best possible teacher for your child. I believe in sharing a caring, comfortable, and challenging learning environment that will allow for plenty of laughter and fun. My hope is that this year your child will become a more confident, independent learner! 

I have been teaching in the state of North Carolina since 2005 when I moved after graduating from college in Western New York. This year will mark my 21st year as an educator. For my first 11 years of teaching, I was living in Charlotte. Then, I met my husband, who was living in Cary. After we married in 2016, I moved up here to be closer to his family. When I am not teaching, I love to spend time with my husband and our family and friends in the area. We love helping others in the community, finding new places to eat, and taking adventures together.
