My name is Brittany Unkefer, and I’m thrilled to be your child’s 2nd-grade teacher this year at Ballentine! Some of you may remember me from Kindergarten, but for those who are new, I’m so excited to get to know you and your child.  

This is my 11th year teaching and my 7th year as a Firefly! I’ve had the joy of teaching Kindergarten, 3rd grade, and 4th grade, and this year marks my first year teaching 2nd grade—I couldn’t be more excited for this new adventure. I’m passionate about creating a classroom where every child feels safe, valued, and eager to learn. This year, we’ll focus on growing as readers, exploring math through hands-on activities, and building strong friendships as a class.  

During my free time, I love spending time with my family, reading a good book, working in the yard, hiking, and ping-ponging between vacations at the beach and mountains. I can’t wait to hear about your child’s favorite activities and interests, too!
