SUMMER BAND 2022!

• Band fees due: August 1st, bring to CSHS in an envelope labeled with- “From [Student name], To Mrs. Price, Band fees” (If your email addresses were made available to her, all band families should have already received a fee sheet from Mrs. Price via email.)

• Band Mini camp - August 1-3 Mon/Tues/Wed 12:50 pm-3:00 pm (we will be teaching 9th AND 10th graders to march during these times; 11th/12th graders are also asked to attend/help)

• Band Music camp - August 8-10 Mon/Tues/Wed 9:45 am-12:00 noon for winds, 12:45-3:00 pm for percussion

• Color Guard rehearsal Mon 8/8 6-7:00 pm

• Color Guard rehearsal Tues/Wed 8/9-10 6-8:30 pm

• Color Guard rehearsal Thurs 8/11 5:30-7:00 pm

• Band camp (top priority of these three weeks)- August 15-18, Mon through Thurs 8:25 am-5:00 pm; Regular full band rehearsals will then continue.

• Guard rehearsal Mon 8/15 5:30-7:30 pm

• Band/Orchestra Family Meetings and Rehearsal: The Band/Orchestra Family Meeting begins on Tues 8/23 at 6:00pm and will be followed by the first Band Booster Meeting of the year; Band Rehearsal will begin after the first portion of the meeting and then finish at 8:30pm.

Goals for rehearsals:

Our summer band program is geared towards the following:

1- halftime show music and formations

2- pep band music

3- parade music and techniques

4- music fundamentals

5- marching fundamentals

6- student leadership/band membership discussions

7- development of social/emotional skills

8- teambuilding

9- possible collaboration with other WCPS band programs

The first home football game will be Friday, 9/9/22!
