The Watonwan County Food Shelf would not exist without our Volunteers!
What our volunteers do:
There are many different things you can do as a volunteer based solely on your comfort level. You can choose one or more of the following:
Register and check-in families on our computer program Pantry Saver.
Stock shelves in the food shelf.
Help families shop for their food.
Help families load food into their vehicle.
Weigh filled carts and check-out families.
Assist with unloading the truck that comes from Second Harvest Heartland on the 2nd and 4th Thursday of the Month.
Winter months- assist with snow and ice removal.
Summer months during our produce distributions
Bag produce
Distribute produce into the trunks of vehicles
Register families at the event
