Position Title:             Part Time Food Pantry Coordinator

Reports To:                  Board of Directors

Salary:                              $15-$20 per hour; approximately 15-20 hours per week

                                             Compensation based on experience

 

Position Overview:


Neighborhood Pantry is seeking a compassionate and organized Part-Time Food Pantry Coordinator to help lead our daily operations and serve our neighbors with dignity and care.

 

This position plays a key role in ensuring our food pantry runs smoothly, volunteers feel supported, and community members have access to needed resources. We are looking for someone who enjoys working with people, is comfortable with basic administrative tasks, and is passionate about serving the community.

 

Key Responsibilities

 

Daily Operations

·         Oversee food shelf hours and day-to-day activities

·         Monitor inventory and coordinate shelf stocking with volunteers

·         Coordinate donation pickups as needed

·         Ensure safe food handling and clean storage practices

 

Administrative Support

·         Maintaining accurate records and monthly statistics

·         Submit required reports to Second Harvest Heartland

·         Assist the Board with documentation related to grants

·         Support the Board with grant writing as needed

·         Recruit, train, and support volunteers

·         Attend monthly Board meetings and share updates

·         Ensure client confidentiality is maintained

 

Community Engagement

·         Build and maintain positive relationships with local businesses, organizations, and churches.

·         Attend community events to share information about our services

·         Help communicate our mission through social media, local media, and other outreach efforts

·         Collaborate with the Board on fundraising efforts and events

 

Qualifications

We are seeking someone who:

·         Can work independently and manage time effectively

·         Communicates clearly and kindly, both verbally and in writing

·         Is comfortable using email, word processing programs, and social media

·         Has valid MN driver’s license and access to reliable transportation

·         Is able to handle confidential information responsibly

·         Feels comfortable working with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds (Spanish language skills are a plus, but not required)

·         Brings flexibility, attention to detail and a heart for service

Experience in nonprofit work, food shelves, volunteer coordination, or community outreach is helpful but no required.
