AAPAC Team

Chyanne Tanner, Chair

Chyanne Tanner is the current AAPAC Chair. Shis is a product of the West Contra Costa Unified School District and has a son who is in the third grade at Washington. Chyanne is an active parent at Washington and has participated in many school district initiatives. She continues to be on various committees that help showcase African American students throughout the school district.

Aminata Fielder, Co-Chair

Aminata is a proud, lifelong Richmond resident and product of her environment. Growing up she attended Grant Elementary, Helms Jr. High before transferring to St. John’s Elementary in El Cerrito and graduating from Holy Names High School in Oakland. She defied the odds and was the first in her family to complete college, receiving her undergrad and graduate education from Cal State East Bay. Aminata has worked in Substance Use and Mental Health treatment for almost two decades and is currently a licensed Marriage Family Therapist and the Clinical Director of Options Recovery Services Alameda County programs.

Her most important and cherished roles, however, are as a wife and mother. Her daughter has been a student at Washington Elementary since Kindergarten which is when Aminata revived the AAPAC at Washington with another parent. Aminata served as co-chair for two years and vice chair for the past two years. Aminata is an active parent to ensure her daughter receives a quality education and opportunities. Early on, Aminata realized being on the AAPAC was bigger than just looking out for her daughter and has worked to make sure other Black families and children are supported. Aminata loves laughing, watching sports, (Lakers, SF 49ers and Oakland A’s), listening to music, being a soccer mom and going on dates with her loving husband.
