All scholarships will be listed in Naviance.  As I learn of new scholarship opportunities I will push them out through google classroom & emails.

The following scholarships are due this week and the month of April.  

Any highlighted get turned into Mrs. Shiles.  Make sure if you are turning in a paper copy that they are turned in on or before the deadline, especially if the deadline falls on a weekend.  Example:  All April 1st applications need to be in to me by Friday.  NO late submissions will be accepted.  Make sure if you are mailing in that you read the application paperwork carefully.  If it says post mark by that date, then you can put it in the mail that day, but if the application says receive by that date, you need to mail it much earlier to make sure it gets to the organization in time.

If you have not looked up your delegate and senator for those scholarships, then go to mdelect.net to do that and complete those applications.  Those scholarships can only be used in the state of MD and winners will be posted in your MDCAPS account – which you should be continually checking.

Scholarships - see all details in Naviance

 Main scholarship session is Feb – May as they know you are working hard in the fall on college applications.  Students there is $ out there for everything including tools for going straight to work.  All of scholarships can be found in Naviance – Colleges – Scholarship List … see details attached.  Parents/guardians if you would like access to Naviance please let me know and I will happily get that set up for you.

Also on this page are suggestions for creating a scholarship binder.  I would do this both in paper and electronically.  Step 1 = creating a resume     This is step 1 for both college and scholarship applications.  I will also forward many of the scholarships that you can access in Naviance to you as I receive them.  PLEASE DO NOT work on applications due past December right now – we usually only get the updated application a month or two in advance.  Nothing wrong with looking at ones you will want to complete though.  Don’t forget about using the National Scholarship Search available in Naviance too (instructions also below about).
