To date we have not received any from MSDE, but I will push them out as soon as we do/if we do. Traditionally SU and UMES will do a waiver as we get close to our on-site admissions day. I hope to know soon if that will be the same this year and when that on-site admissions day will be.
University of MD College Park - ALL application materials, including SAT scores MUST BE RECEIVED by UMCP by their priority deadline of 11/1 - they select 90% of their freshman class from this pool of applications.
UMD's test optional policy has been extended through to the Spring and Fall 2025 application cycles.
What does this mean for your students?
If your students are applying for admission between now and Fall 2025, they will not be required to submit standardized test scores. Students can decide whether or not to include SAT/ACT scores with their application.
As part of UMD's application, students will be asked if they intend to submit test scores.
If a student chooses to submit test scores, they will be incorporated into our holistic review as one factor among many that are considered in our evaluations.
Students who choose not to submit test scores will receive the same holistic review and will not be disadvantaged in our evaluations.
This will not impact our review for limited enrollment programs, living-learning and other special programs, or merit scholarships.
University of MD Baltimore County - All application materials submitted by early action deadline 11/1 to be considered for merit/academic scholarships.

WHAT IS THE ACADEMIC COMMON MARKET (ACM)?
The Academic Common Market (ACM) is a tuition-savings program that operates on the premise that if public institutions (not including private institutions) in a student’s home state do not offer a degree program major (undergraduate or graduate) that a student intends on pursuing, then s/he may attend a participating ACM out-of-state institution offering the degree of interest through the ACM and be granted a waiver of out-of-state tuition charge.
