Pennsylvania businesses need skilled workers that have career and technical education. Career and technical education (CTE) in Pennsylvania offers you the opportunity to develop critical skills through a combination of classes and hands-on learning experiences.
There are more than 80 career and technical education centers (CTE) across Pennsylvania that offer approved programs to thousands of students. You can easily enroll in a CTC, and even participate in Advanced Placement or Honors courses within your local school district.

The American CTE system provides five major pathways including:
(1) Employer-based training
(2) Industry-based certifications
(3) Apprenticeships
(4) Post-secondary certificates
(5) Associate’s degrees
These pathways are not mutually exclusive; on the contrary, they are often integrated and can overlap in linear and nonlinear ways, forming a network of education and training activities.
