MENTORSHIPS
ATTENTION 9th/10th Graders!
Young Mem and Women in Charge (YMWIC) are accepting applications for a pre-scholarship program!
Are you interested in pursuing a career in Architecture, Engineering, Construction, or the Skilled Trades? Then ACE is the program for you! Our students learn directly from industry professionals who serve as their mentors. Mentors provide you with an education about what it really means to be a professional in the industry and support you toward your professional goals.
Girls Advisory Board (GAB) provides local high school girls entering 10th or 11th grade with an opportunity to learn firsthand about the deep and varied needs in their communities and equip themselves with the skills needed to address them.
· Learn about the importance of philanthropy and giving back to your local community
· Make new friends from different schools and communities throughout Chester County
· Discuss pressing social issues with your peers
· Meet non-profits doing ‘boots on the ground’ work for women and girls
· Collaborate with peers to fund $19,000 to local organizations through strategic grantmaking
· Participate in community service
· Get to know influential women in your community
GAB runs from September 2021 to March 2022, with meetings on Saturday mornings throughout the school year. Accepted girls may participate in GAB for up to two years. If selected, GAB is free to all participants.
GirlGov Chester County is a civic engagement program that provides local high school girls entering 10th, 11th or 12th grade with an opportunity to learn firsthand about civics, government, advocacy, policy and leadership.
· Work with peers to develop and lead your own advocacy campaigns
· Make new friends from different schools and communities throughout Chester County
· Meet local and state elected officials
· Get to know influential women in your community
· Take a culminating advocacy trip to Harrisburg to meet with legislators about issues that matter to you
GirlGov Chester County* runs from September 2021 to June 2022, with meetings twice a month from 5-7pm on Thursday evenings throughout the school year. Accepted girls may participate in GirlGov Chester County for up to two years.
