Music Literacy & Theory

All students will gain a basic understanding of the building blocks of music and simple notation. By the end of their time in Year 9 Music, students will be able to read and write simple music and describe appropriately the elements within music they hear. Students with prior music theory knowledge are welcome to work on their own theory workbooks, or we have extension work available for them. Please discuss with your teacher. 

Below is the Learning Progression feedback sheet that students will given as they complete their Music Literacy & Theory activities in class. Prior to this students will have had feedback (either verbal or written) from their classroom teacher.
