Information and Resources for all Music Courses
Nau mai, haere mai! Welcome!
Here you will find the majority of the information and recourses you will need for your Music Courses at Wellington College. Each of the year level has a page with information on what is required and there are specific resources that link with what is happening in class. You can find these to the left under the menu drop downs. Spend some time familiarising yourself with where the information relevant to you is found. Also, make sure you are asking questions if you are not sure about anything. Have a great year in Music!
General information regarding Co-curricular Music groups, Events, and Itinerant Music Lessons can be found on the main Music Dept Website.
Assessment:
Junior and Middle School courses will use the Wellington College Learning Progressions Framework to provide feedback and track student achievement. Further information about the Framework can be found here.
For Music, each year level/stage has an overall year plan with regular checkpoints scheduled for students to receive feedback on their work. Then, at the end of the phase of learning/unit they will receive formal feedback in the form of a Leaning Progression. This will be reported on the Portal. Student feedback at checkpoints will not.
Details of when each of these will happen is detailed on each year level page of this website. Minor changes may be made over the year, but in general this should give an indication of when things are due and when feedback will be given to students.
Senior School music students will be assessed against NCEA Level 2 and 3 Achievement Standards. Details of these can be found on the course pages to the left.
Further information about Wellington College assessment procedures, reconsiderations, extensions, etc. can be found on the main school website - or specifically here.
Scholarship Music is open to any student interest. Information can be found under the Scholarship Music page.
Performing Arts Academy is an additional opportunity for students interested in further developing their musicianship. Details of the programme can be found here.
