Mr. Robert D. Hayzler
Principal
6th Grade – 8th Grade
Greetings!
The new school year is soon upon us. I hope all of you are finding time to relax and are having a rejuvenating summer. As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, I’m excited to welcome all of you, both our returning families and those who are new to the Wharton Borough Alfred C. MacKinnon Middle School community.
This school year brings with it a fresh start and countless opportunities for our students to grow, learn, and create lasting memories. At MacKinnon, we are proud to provide a nurturing and engaging environment where every child is supported in reaching their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Our dedicated team of educators and staff are eagerly preparing to welcome students back to school. With their passion and commitment, we’re ready to inspire, challenge, and guide each learner through a successful and fulfilling year.
As we begin a new school year, I’d like to take a moment to highlight a few important points:
Academic Excellence
Our mission is to provide a rigorous, engaging, and student-centered academic experience. Our dedicated educators have spent the summer preparing high-quality lessons and meaningful learning experiences that promote critical thinking, creativity, and a lifelong love of learning. We continue to set high expectations while supporting students in achieving their full potential.
Social and Emotional Growth
We recognize that middle school is not just a time for academic learning but also a key developmental period in a student’s social and emotional journey. Through programs, SEL (Social-Emotional Learning) initiatives, and peer collaboration, we foster a sense of belonging and teach essential life skills such as resilience, empathy, responsibility, and respectful communication.
Extracurricular Opportunities
Learning doesn’t stop at the classroom door. We are proud to offer a variety of extracurricular clubs, sports, music, arts, and enrichment opportunities that allow students to explore their interests, develop new skills, and connect with peers. These activities play a vital role in creating a well-rounded educational experience and help students build confidence and school spirit.
Home-to-School Partnership
We firmly believe that strong communication and collaboration between school and home are essential to student success. We value your involvement and encourage you to stay connected with us throughout the year through our realtime communication, parent-teacher conferences, school events, and digital platforms. Your partnership helps reinforce the importance of education and builds a united community focused on supporting every child.
As we look ahead to the first day of school, I invite you to join us in embracing the possibilities this new year brings. Let’s work together to create a supportive, inclusive, and inspiring school environment where every student can shine.
I encourage all students to approach their classes or “courses of study” with enthusiasm and determination. Embrace new challenges, ask questions, and seek help when needed. Each of you brings a unique set of talents and strengths, and I have no doubt that, together, we will accomplish remarkable achievements.
In conclusion, I am excited to work alongside each and every one of you to help you find your success. Let us work together to make this school year memorable and full of great successes.
Once again, welcome to MacKinnon Middle School. Let's make it a great year and a year of growth, learning, and shared accomplishments.
Sincerely,
Robert D. Hayzler
