Recommended Gear list

· 3 sets of thermal long johns and long sleeve tops made of polypropylene or merino wool – for caving, overnight camping, tramping

· Fleece top - for caving trips, overnight trips, and all other trips in cold weather

· Rain coat & waterproof leggings

· Sturdy walking shoes or tramping boots – tramping trips

· Sleeping bag – for overnight trips

· Beanie & gloves – for overnight trips

Avoid cotton clothing; although it is hard wearing, it is extremely cold when wet and it takes a long time to dry.

· Caving gumboots

· Specialist caving harnesses

· Tents

· Bed rolls

· Tramping packs
