A little about myself

Kia ora. I have come to WBHS after 3 years abroad traveling through the Americas and Europe. I come from a small beach town called Riversdale Beach, where I developed my love for the outdoors. I enjoy all things outdoors, specifically water based sports and getting up into the mountains. I have worked in many rolls in the outdoors including guiding, surf lifesaving, ski resorts and environmental sustainability. Teaching has been the most rewarding and challenging role I have worked in and I am looking forward to getting back into it at WBHS.

Core values

“Until you value yourself, you won't value your time. Until you value your time, you will not do anything with it. ”

– M. Scott Peck

I believe in identifying and making the most out of the opportunities that we come across and assisting students to recognize their potential.

Aspirations

Through Outdoor Education I aim to move students to the edge of their comfort zone to help them develop essential life skills such as resilience, self management, and interpersonal skills. Outdoor Education is an excellent tool to help students explore the amazing natural resources that Northland has to offer, to teach them how significant it is to have these resources available, and also how to care for it and the importance of protecting it for future generations.
