Darcy Howser is the Daughter of Daren and Barb Howser. Darcy has been an active FFA member for 4 years and has taken 6 agriculture education courses. She has been a chapter officer for 3 years serving as Secretary, Vice President, and Currently serves as President. Darcy has competed in Livestock judging for 4 years and has also competed in Public Speaking, Job interview, and Soil Judging. She has also participated in the Fair breakfast, Corn Booth, Consignment auction, ag olympics, Veterans day breakfast and ceremony, FFA camp, Ronald McDonald House, Fruit and Strawberry sales, Fair Exhibition, State and National Convention, the sophomore Career Success Tour, and Alumni Quarter Raffle. Her biggest accomplishment was receiving her State FFA Degree through her Beef Enterprise SAE project. She is now pursuing her American FFA Degree. She received her agriculture industry certification for floral design, endorsed by the Benz School of Floral design at Texas A&M. Furthermore, she will be received an Ohio Agribusiness and Production Systems credential endorsed by the Ohio Agriculture Business Association. Darcy’s favorite memory was going on the career success tour with her classmates and getting see Garth Brooks in concert at National FFA Convention. Darcy plans to attend the Ohio State University Agricultural Technical Institute to major in Livestock Production & Management. Her advice to new members is to get involved as soon as you walk through the door. You will make lifelong friends along the way and have opportunities that you’ll never truly appreciate until it’s over. Congratulations Darcy.

Derek Rymer is the son of Jeff and Debbie Rymer. Derek has been an FFA member for 4 years and has taken 5 agriculture education courses. He has competed in parliamentary procedure, agronomy, livestock judging, and public speaking. Derek’s SAE program included market goat entrepreneurship and job placement at Nethero and Howser Family Farms. He has also participated in fundraisers, FFA camp, State convention, fair breakfast, the pork producers booth, corn booth, consignment auction, ag olympics, and the veterans day assembly. Derek received an agriculture industry certification for floral design, endorsed by the Benz School of Floral design at Texas A&M. Derek’s favorite memory is attending FFA camp because it was a great opportunity to meet new people as he fancies himself a social butterfly. He plans to attend The Ohio State University Agriculture and Technical Institute this fall to major in Agriculture Systems Management. He hopes to ultimately earn a Masters in Agronomy at Main campus in the coming years. His advice to new members is to buy into the FFA program and the process. It will prepare you for your future career, college and life more than any other class. Congratulations Derek.
