Director of Wayne County Virtual School
Attendance Supervisor & Director of the Wayne County Alternative Education Program
I am very happy to be starting my 27th year of teaching in the Wayne County School System. I spent my first 10 years teaching special education at the Waynesboro Elementary School. I spent 12 years as the teacher at the Wayne County Alternative Education Program. I am starting my 5th year as the Virtual Learning Director and I am also the Attendance Supervisor for the county. I am the coordinator for homeschool programs, homebound, Alternative Education Program, credit recovery, and independent study. I am also the juvenile court-education liaison for our county.
In my 'free' time I travel (mostly to National Park sites) and spend time with family. I have been to 47/50 states and 31/63 National Parks. I am an Aunt to 7 and a Great Aunt to 15. BUT my favorite is that I am a Great, Great Aunt to two precious boys, Colton and Ryker.
Our goal at the Wayne County Virtual School is to work with students that are currently homeschooling that would like to get a Wayne County School diploma, while still doing homeschooling. This tuition free program will be for students 7th thru 12th grade. If that sounds like something you are interested in then email me at ladonna.edwards@waynetn.net so I can give you more information.
Other programs of our Virtual School umbrella will be regular homeschooling (grades K up), Wayne County Alternative Education Program, homebound, credit recovery and independent study.
Administrative Assistant- Abigail Davis
I am a 2023 graduate of Wayne County High School, where I spent my junior year participating in the Wayne County Virtual School program. After high school I enrolled at TCAT to pursue a career in Cosmetology but have transitioned into a full-time role as an administrative assistant for the Wayne County Virtual School. In this position, I'm excited to work closely with a diverse group of students and contribute to their academic success.
In addition to my professional role, I am a dedicated mother to a two year son. Balancing my career ambitions with the joys and responsibilities of motherhood, I am committed to both my personal and professional growth.
