Our first few months in Kindergarten Wrap have been a great success. The boys and girls have done an awesome job making new friends, learning school rules, and adjusting to our daily schedule. With the help of Ms. Oswald, we have created a fun loving classroom environment, where everyone is thriving.

We have been working closely with Mrs. Biondo to make sure the K Wrap program at Theunis reinforces the skills that have been introduced in the Kindergarten classroom. The content is reinforced through learning centers including word work, math, science, social studies, technology, arts and crafts and a class favorite free choice. Many of the learning centers are hands on and interactive. We use music, motion and a multi sensory approach to reinforce the skills and concepts taught in the kindergarten classroom.

We are so fortunate to be a part of a school community with a compassion for learning. Our goals is that each of our learners are happy, confident and successful in their endeavors each day. We are looking forward to continued success this school year!

We are thankful for arts and crafts in Kindergarten Wrap!

We have been very busy filling our friends buckets with kindness at Theunis. We counted, sorted and graphed the pop poms from the kindness buckets in our math center. We have lots of bucket fillers in K Wrap!

Some of the games we play in our literature center include Vowel Owls, Sight Word Zingo, Launch & Learn and Pop & Match.

These games reinforced pre-reading skills including letter sound correspondence, identifying middle sounds, recognizing sight words and decoding simple words.

We had so much fun reading the many different versions of fairytales.

We compared characters, settings and made predictions on how we thought the stories would end. We reenacted many of the stories in masks.

Our classes favorite fairytale was The Three Little Pigs.

Look at what we have been doing in K-Wrap!

We have been learning alot in K-Wrap. We recently learned about about Hibernation , Migration, and Adaption. We then incorporated our letter of the week project to tie the two together, H is for Hibernation!

We love incorporating technology into our routine in K-Wrap! One of our favorite Math Games is Fuzz Bugs. We get to practice our math skills by counting, comparing and sorting.

We love playing games in our literature centers or as a whole class in K-Wrap. Some games we love to play are Fishing for Sight words, Sight Word Zingo and Sparkle.

These games reinforce skills including recognizing and spelling sight words, letter sound, and letter formation.

We had so much fun reading different classic fairy tales.

We discussed the characters, settings , events and endings of each fairy tale. We then reenacted the stories in masks.

Our favorite fairy tale was Little Red Riding Hood.
