Bella Coppola is an actress and singer/songwriter. She is known for playing Henry VIII's third wife, Jane Seymour, in the phenomenal, in-your-face musical SIX. She has 4,088 monthly listeners on Spotify. Her song I Regret Nothing is from her EP, also titled I Regret Nothing.
It's about how Bella fell in love with someone, and he had "left [her] for someone new". She didn't "fit into the mold of [his] cliché", and he had left her. But she realized that she could do it alone. "I know who I am, and I don't need no man" shows how she has evolved into an independent being, and doesn't regret her choices. It's the empowering anthem that we need in February to carry us out of the slump that we call Winter.
So, if you dare to hit play, I promise you will see the light at the end of the tunnel that I saw when I first heard the flowy, at-ease voice of Bella Coppola.

Last year, on December 20th, SZA released her new deluxe album SOS Deluxe: LANA. On December 9th, 2022 SZA came out with her album SOS and this year she has blessed our ears yet again by adding on to this breathtaking album. When she first released the album many of the songs became a big hit. “Kill Bill” is one legendary example of the song that took off to the top of the charts quite fast.
There are a total of 38 songs on this album making it 1 hour and 54 minutes long. When I first saw the length of the album I was quite intimidated. After listening to the album I can say I am very pleased with the many amazing songs I got to hear. Some of the songs on the album are from the original album which already itself had a total of 23 songs. We also got 15 new songs that are equally just as amazing.
One of my favorite tracks on the album is “Another Life”. The song talks about yearning for a love that you no longer have. In the lyrics, it says, “In another life I know we could ride, baby, let me ride. Won't you love me right out, boy?” She talks about how the relationship between two people didn’t end up working in this life, in this universe. But maybe in a different life or universe they would work out. The song shows the complexities of love and the aching in your heart from the separation. The songs show that because of the circumstances in the current life we are living, things weren’t able to work out but maybe in another timeline when things are different maybe there could've been a better ending for the two of them.
When SZA originally wrote SOS back in 2022 she was in a low place. Since then SZA has found herself among the queens of R&B. Her coming back and adding to this album is her showing that she is now ready to move on from the past and the things that have hurt her in the past putting her in a low mental state. SZA has come such a long way since then, improving her mental well-being and how she is doing overall.
This album has something to it that just keeps calling me back, making me want to listen to it over and over again. Taking the time and listening to the album and the words of each song has made me feel some sort of connection to some of the songs. I’m glad I gave this album a listen because I have found such a strong liking to the songs and just how her voice sounded in general. Give the album a listen and I guarantee you will feel the same way I did when I first hit play.

Song Review
By Aathreya M. Sinthujaa
This article contains complex musical terms.
Composed by Ludwig van Beethoven, “Für Elise” is one of the most famous and recognizable pieces of piano music in the world. Unlike Beethoven’s other famous compositions, the Fifth Symphony and Ode to Joy, “Für Elise” was a posthumous piece-it was discovered and published 40 (!) years after his passing in 1865.
It’s believed that Beethoven completed this piece on April 27, 1810, when he was 39 years old. Beethoven was hard of hearing. At this time, he could still hear some sounds and voices at this time, but his hearing was growing weaker. His hearing remained stronger with higher pitches, which may be why this piece is written on the higher notes on the piano.
Beethoven composed music from 1790 to 1827. These 40 years spanned a shift in musical style from what’s now known as the Classical period to the Romantic period. Serious symphonies turned into deep music about love. Written towards the end of Beethoven’s middle period of compositions, known as his Heroic period, “Für Elise” uses Classical forms, although the character of this piece is lighter and sweeter than his symphonies.
Despite this emphasis on form, this piece has romantic sensibilities due to the clashing and contrasting emotions in the B and C sections. The Romantic period of music was all about using contrasting emotions in artistic expression, and the rondo structure of this piece showcases a nostalgic and sweet main theme, a sparkly section, and then a stormier section before returning to calm.
This composition may have a romantic backstory, appropriate for a Romantic era piece, and the title “Für Elise” itself is shrouded in mystery. The piece’s official name is “Bagatelle Number 25 in A minor.” “Bagatelle” is a name for a piece of music that is short and sweet – it comes from the French word for a dessert made from layers of cake, fruit, and cream, similar to the English trifle. However, this piece of music is best known by its nickname, “Für Elise.” This name comes from the manuscript inscription on the front page. Beethoven dedicated this piece to someone special, but no one knows who this special person was. Was the piece a gift for a dear friend, a composition for a piano student, or a tribute to a lost love? Thus one of the greatest mysteries in music history was born.
Who was Elise?
There are three reigning theories as to who the mysterious “Elise” was:
One theory is that it wasn’t an “Elise” at all! The original manuscript looks to be inscribed “To Therese.” There was a Therese in Beethoven’s life in 1810: Therese Malfatti von Rohrenbach zu Dezza was a friend and former student of the composer’s. He fell in love with her and proposed marriage in 1810, but was turned down. She was also the owner of the manuscript at the time of its discovery, making this theory highly likely.
A second theory is that “Elise” was the German soprano Elisabeth Rockel, another love interest of Beethoven’s. She, too, turned down his marriage proposal and wound up marrying another composer, Johann Nepomuk Hummel, instead.
A third candidate is another singer named Elise Barensfeld. Therese Malfatti may have been Elise’s piano teacher, and the theory is that Beethoven wrote the relatively easy bagatelle for Therese to teach to Elise. Thus, a favor for Therese wound up being a piece for Elise.
What kind of mood does “Für Elise” convey?
Each section of “Für Elise” conveys a different mood. The opening movement’s enchanting melodic theme begins with its iconic alternation between the notes E and D sharp, leading into a falling line and then rising arpeggios. As the section progresses, the arpeggios intensify, but the sound still remains light and open, with only a single melodic line throughout. It creates a mood of wistful, introspective longing.
The second section is bright and energetic, with a very classical feel. This bouncy section is rhythmic with rich chords. The mood is happy and confident, with fast runs and flourishes.
The third section is stormy and dark, with rapidly repeating notes in the bass that add depth and drama. This section seems troubled, even tormented.
The popularity of “Für Elise” today
Whatever the story, “Für Elise” is undeniably one of the most popular piano pieces in existence. It is also quite playable for anyone who approaches it with patience and practice! The first and most familiar main theme, the A section, is simple and beautiful, and accessible to piano players even in the earliest levels. While the B and C Sections are a little trickier, once you’ve learned the main theme, which comes back three times, you’ve learned the majority of the piece.
Because of its enchanting, unforgettable melody, “Für Elise” is used often in movies and on television. This makes it easier to learn and even more fun to play, as most people are already familiar with the sound of the piece.
Is “Für Elise” hard to play on piano?
The first short section of “Für Elise,” which is the most recognizable part of the song, is easy to play and can be learned by anyone whether they have experience playing the piano or not. Watch our early elementary level piano tutorial, which you’ll find below, and try it for yourself.
In order to play the complete version, a piano student will usually need some years of experience. It’s considered an intermediate level piece, grade 5 (ABRSM) or grade 7 (RCM). This means that a dedicated piano student who has been studying for five or six years should be able to tackle it.
While “Für Elise” is not one of the most difficult pieces to play, you’ll often hear professional concert pianists perform it. The notes of the piece may not be as challenging as some other famous classical pieces, but the broad range of emotion and opportunity for interpretation and expression makes the piece a favorite both to play and to listen to

The Snoring Twenties - Today's School Fashion Explained
By Manav Parmar
In the Stone Ages of 10 years ago, we used to wear what some teachers call “actual clothes” to school. So, how did pajamas and oversized hoodies become a school aesthetic?
In the early 2010s, there was a fine line between school clothes and home clothes. You would have your pajamas and sweats in the home section, and the school section would likely consist of polo shirts and graphic tees. And jeans. LOTS OF JEANS. The final decade of denim.
Girl trends included leggings, jeggings (which are denim leggings), and Uggs (in the winter). Feather hair extensions were a nice accessory to achieve that bohemian style.
sported skinny jeans, snapback hats (which were basically adjustable hats), and button-down shirts, as well as polo shirts. Often, their hair would be slicked back, in contrast to today's front fluffs.
took on the early 10s with leggings, jeggings (which are denim leggings), and Uggs (in the winter). Feather hair extensions were a nice accessory to achieve that bohemian style.
In 2023, school and home clothes reached a harmonic convergence and became one.
Beach lovers like the VSCO groupies popularized oversized T-shirts. Even though the VSCO trend has nearly ceased to exist, at least in freezing states like New Jersey, it left a big mark on today’s school attire.
Sweatpants, oversized t-shirts and hoodies are epitomes of comfort. A lot of students say that when they are wearing comfortable clothes, they focus in class better, and it’s easier to engage in their learning.
Stanley cups (not pictured) are now the queens of the water bottle nation, as a large number of students and teachers carry the infamous cups to stay hydrated.
Sadly, or happily; it depends on your style-the nostalgic polo days are over.
While denim isn’t first in line for school fashion, some students still wear jeans to school every day, and jorts are still worn in the spring by many students. Denim is still quite popular outside of school as well-people of all ages wear it to work and functions as well. While other clothing materials will fluctuate in popularity, it seems that denim has been and will always continue to stay in mode.
…That’s school fashion in a nutshell! Stay tuned for more news articles from the AW Bugle!
