I am excited to join the team here at Martha Puckett Middle School and I am looking forward to a great year. After thirteen years of teaching high school math, I was ready for a new challenge and adventure. Over the last five years, I had been considering transitioning from a high school teacher to that of a middle grades or elementary position. At the conclusion of the 2020 school year, I had the opportunity to interview at Martha Puckett Middle School.
After speaking with Dr. Priester, I knew that I would be a good fit for the Martha Puckett Community. I am passionate about teaching and learning and was excited that I would be working with like minded professionals on a daily basis.
Estoy emocionado de unirme al equipo aquí en Martha Puckett Middle School y espero tener un gran año. Después de trece años de enseñar matemáticas en la escuela secundaria, estaba listo para un nuevo desafío y aventura. Durante los últimos cinco años, había estado considerando la transición de un maestro de escuela secundaria a un puesto de grado medio o primaria. Over the last thirteen years, I have taught a variety of high school math classes. My favorite classes to teach were Algebra 2 and Calculus as the students and I were able to engage in a lot of hands on activities that made the content fun and accessible.
As a professional educator, I find that it is extremely important to establish a positive learning community within my classroom. Inspired by "The Seven Habits of Highly Effective People", the learning community of room 512 will always be Accountable, Respectful, and Engaged.
While on my journey to develop myself as a professional, I have obtained multiple degrees. Initially, I graduated from Georgia Southern with a Bachelors of Business Administration in Finance. After becoming an educator, I decided to pursue a Masters of Arts in Teaching from Valdosta State University to become a fully certified educator. My most recent degree is an Education Specialist in Teaching and Learning. Eventually, I plan on getting a Doctoral Degree in Education.

Google Classroom will be the primary vehicle that I will use to assign and grade any digital assignments. At Martha Puckett, all students and teachers are expected to demonstrate proficiency using this resource.
