Google Gems
Attending the Google Gems Conference was an exciting and enriching experience! This full-day session covered nearly all the Google Workspace apps, explored their newest updates, and provided hands-on demonstrations of how educators can maximize these tools in the classroom. From streamlining workflow to enhancing student engagement, this conference was packed with valuable insights, practical tips, and best practices that I can’t wait to implement.
One of the biggest takeaways was discovering new updates and hidden features within apps like Google Docs, Slides, Forms, and Classroom. Learning how to use shortcuts, templates, and add-ons will make my daily tasks more efficient, giving me more time to focus on teaching. I also explored creative ways to use Google Forms for quick assessments, Google Sheets for data tracking, and Google Slides for interactive student projects.
Another highlight was seeing real-world applications of these tools in action. The presenters modeled how educators can differentiate instruction, provide timely feedback, and foster collaboration among students using Google Workspace. I’m especially excited to apply Google Keep for digital note-taking to boost student participation.
This conference reinforced the power of technology in education and how Google Workspace can transform the way we teach and learn. I’m eager to bring these new strategies and tools into my classroom and share them with colleagues. If you’re in a Google Workspace district, I highly recommend diving into these tools—you’ll be amazed at how much they can enhance your teaching!
