About Me

Greetings, I am Kennedy Aswegen, a proud graduate of Michigan State University (MSU), where I earned both my bachelor’s degree in Special Education with a focus on Learning Disabilities (K–12) and Elementary Education (K–5, all subjects), and—as of 2025—my Master of Arts in Educational Technology.

During my time at MSU, I had the unique opportunity to teach and learn in both domestic and international settings, including experiences at the University of Cape Coast in Ghana and the University of Galway in Ireland. These global engagements expanded my worldview, deepened my appreciation for diverse educational practices, and strengthened my commitment to open-mindedness, community involvement, and global leadership.

My teaching philosophy centers on creating individualized, student-centered learning experiences within safe, inclusive, and culturally responsive classrooms. I aim to nurture the holistic development of every learner, empowering them to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally.

I am deeply committed to continuous professional growth and reflective practice. Through the Educational Technology Master’s Program (MAET), I further developed my expertise in leveraging technology to enhance teaching and learning, while advancing equity, fostering innovation, and leading transformative change. One of the most enriching aspects of the program was the opportunity to immerse myself in new cultures and pedagogical frameworks while deepening my understanding of digital tools and instructional design.
