Welcome to my Master of Arts in Educational Technology (MAET) Showcase! This collection highlights my journey as a lifelong learner, exploring innovative ways to integrate technology into education to enhance student engagement and learning outcomes. Throughout this program, I’ve developed a deeper understanding of educational research, instructional design, and the effective use of digital tools in the classroom.
This showcase is divided into two categories: creations made through the program and the tools used to create them. In the first section, you’ll find key projects, reflections, and artifacts that demonstrate my growth as an educator and my commitment to fostering dynamic, technology-rich learning environments. The second section highlights the digital tools and platforms that have helped bring these creations to life, showcasing the powerful role of technology in transforming teaching and learning.

In the MAET program, creation and creativity have been central themes. I had the opportunity to work both independently and collaboratively, developing projects in fresh, engaging ways. This section of my showcase highlights some of the projects I’m proud to share, reflecting the risks I took and the growth I experienced as I explored new platforms and mediums. Each project represents a challenge I embraced, pushing myself beyond familiar boundaries to try new approaches. I hope you enjoy exploring my creations as much as I enjoyed bringing them to life!

Designing a Maker Learning Experience
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to apply critical constructivist principles and engage with the maker movement to design meaningful, hands-on learning experiences for my students. I explored how maker-centered learning fosters creativity, problem-solving, and student agency. Drawing from these concepts, I designed a maker learning experience that encourages students to explore, experiment, and reflect on their learning through active creation. This project showcases my skills in instructional design, fostering student-centered learning environments, and integrating innovative, experiential activities into the classroom.

Mapping Passion and Curiosity Through Reflective Design
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to connect personal passions with professional growth through creative expression. I created a reflective piece using postcards and a map of Galway as my medium to convey how passion and curiosity shape my work as an educator. This artifact represents (a) how I infuse my teaching with genuine enthusiasm and inquiry, (b) how questioning has influenced both my personal life and professional practice, and (c) my ongoing reflection on learning in MAET: Mindsets for Innovation. Through this project, I showcase my skills in reflective thinking, creative problem-solving, and the ability to connect personal experiences to educational practices in meaningful ways.
Reflections on Creativity: Multiple Perspectives
In this collection of artifacts, I demonstrate my ability to think critically, adapt perspectives, and explore creativity through diverse lenses. Each creation reflects a unique viewpoint, allowing me to analyze how creativity manifests in different contexts:
Creativity from the Perspective of a Construction Worker – In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to adopt alternative viewpoints, showcasing how problem-solving, hands-on innovation, and adaptability are key components of creativity in construction.
Exploring Creativity Through AI – Here, I highlight my ability to engage with emerging technologies, reflecting on how artificial intelligence can both inspire and challenge traditional creative processes.
Global Perspectives on Creativity – This artifact showcases my skills in cultural awareness, critical thinking, and synthesizing diverse viewpoints to understand how creativity is defined and valued across different cultures around the world.
Together, these reflections highlight my ability to analyze creativity from various angles, fostering a deeper understanding of its role in both education and beyond. All of these artifacts were created on Canva.
Educational Research and Data-Driven Decision Making
Through my work in the MAET program, I explored alternative methods of educational research, gaining a deeper understanding of both qualitative and quantitative approaches. In these artifacts, I demonstrate my ability to identify researchable problems in education, think critically to develop meaningful, research-driven questions, and design comprehensive research proposals. These projects showcase how I apply theoretical knowledge to practical teaching scenarios, using evidence-based strategies to enhance instructional practices.
Additionally, I demonstrate my ability to apply descriptive and inferential statistics to analyze and critique published studies. This work highlights my skills in interpreting data accurately, evaluating the validity of research findings, and making informed decisions that support student learning outcomes. Through these experiences, I’ve strengthened my capacity to use data as a powerful tool for driving continuous improvement in education.
Research on Integrating Multilingualism in the Classroom
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to collaborate effectively, conduct thorough research, and communicate complex ideas through multimedia formats. My colleague and I selected Integration of Multilingualism in the Classroom Setting as our research focus. Together, we located, evaluated, and curated a variety of credible sources to deepen our understanding of best practices for supporting multilingual learners.
We showcased our findings through a visually engaging poster and an accompanying video, highlighting key insights and practical strategies for educators. This project reflects my skills in research, critical analysis, content curation, and the use of digital tools to present information in accessible and impactful ways.
In the MAET program, I developed a versatile digital toolkit by exploring a wide range of technologies and platforms. This section highlights how I’ve applied tools for multimedia creation, data visualization, instructional design, and collaborative learning. Each project demonstrates my ability to integrate technology effectively to enhance teaching and learning. I’m excited to showcase the digital skills I’ve gained and how they will continue to support my growth as an educator.
Quickfire Challenges: Sparking Creativity and Engagement
Quickfire Challenges are designed to inspire creativity under time constraints, with specific yet open-ended directions that encourage both risk-taking and reflection. These activities helped me embrace both success and failure as essential parts of the learning process, reigniting the joy and innovation needed for effective curriculum development and delivery.

Reimagining Teaching and Learning: Audio Essay
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to articulate a vision for the future of teaching and learning, while utilizing technology to enhance the presentation of my ideas. I created an audio essay that explores how education could evolve through reimagined teaching practices and student engagement. In the process, I used the Descript platform to record and edit the audio, showcasing my skills in audio production, editing, and digital storytelling. This project highlights my ability to communicate complex ideas effectively and creatively using modern digital tools.

Exploring Educational Technology: Storybird Lesson
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to collaborate effectively with a team, research educational technologies, and design professional development resources. As part of a group, we explored a variety of digital tools and selected Storybird for its potential to enhance creativity and literacy in the classroom. I learned how to navigate and utilize Storybird, researched its educational applications, and contributed to the development of a lesson aimed at building colleagues’ understanding of how this tool can support student learning.
Through this project, I showcased my skills in technology integration, instructional design, and professional collaboration, as well as my ability to communicate new concepts in a clear and engaging way for educators.

Interdisciplinary Learning Game Board
In this artifact, I demonstrate my ability to design engaging, interdisciplinary learning experiences that foster creativity and critical thinking. I created a game board with a variety of task cards, each challenging students to make connections across different subjects. This artifact showcases my skills in instructional design, creative problem-solving, and curriculum integration, as students are encouraged to apply knowledge from multiple disciplines in fun, meaningful ways. Through this game, learners actively engage in cross-curricular thinking, deepening their understanding while sparking curiosity.
