March is Reading Month: Our Bookworm Party Fun!

March is Reading Month, and in our second-grade classroom, we have been celebrating in exciting ways! One of the highlights of our reading adventures was our Bookworm Party, where we combined two of our favorite things—reading and snacks! With flashlights in hand and gummy worms to munch on, we cozied up with our books and let our imaginations take over. The dim glow of flashlights made our reading time feel like a special adventure, creating the perfect atmosphere for getting lost in our stories.

For this month, we set some exciting reading goals. Each student aimed to read a book by a new author, expanding our exposure to different writing styles and stories. We also focused on making predictions as we read, stopping throughout our books to guess what might happen next based on clues from the story. This strategy helped us become more engaged readers and strengthened our comprehension skills. March is Reading Month has been a fantastic way to build our love for books, and we can’t wait to continue our reading journey with even more fun activities!
