Hello! My name is Sue Walczak and I am thrilled to be entering my 31st year in the Wauwatosa School District as a School Social Worker. I have worked at every academic level during my tenure in the district including, elementary (Wilson/WSTEM, Roosevelt, and Eisenhower,) middle (Longfellow,) and high school (West.)
I received a BA in Sociology with an emphasis in Social Work from St. Norbert College in 1991. The University of Kentucky (Go Cats) is where I completed my MSW in Social Work in 1994. While in my master's program I participated in a Maternal and Child Health Federal Grant Program in addition to my Social Work studies. I continue to stay current in my practice and have accumulated 60 graduate credits past my degree.
As a School Social Worker, I partner with students, families, and school staff to break down academic, social, and emotional barriers through a variety of approaches. My philosophy is to build resiliency and coping strategies within the people I support. Life can be challenging and having the capacity to deal with the ups and downs is constant practice. Additionally, I partner with outside agencies to support families on every level. I am well-versed in the supports and services in the Milwaukee County area.
I currently reside in Menomonee Falls with my husband James and children, Bailey and Ryan. I also had a beautiful Bernese Mountain Dog named Sierra and recently added a sassy little Golden Retriever named Winnie.
