Middle School Agriculture
Welcome to the home of Waunakee Middle School Ag!
Both the 7th and 8th-grade courses are intended to give students an understanding of the 8 agriculture pathways and foster student excitement about agriculture. All students enrolled in agricultural courses have the opportunity to join FFA which helps students apply their agricultural knowledge and grow their leadership skills. Middle School Courses
7th Grade Agriculture
What you need to know about 7th Grade Ag:
ALL 7th graders will take 7th Grade Ag
Agriculture is part of the CTE course rotation of Business, Family & Consumer Science, and Technology Education
The course lasts for the length of one quarter
By the end of the course, students will define agriculture and identify careers in agriculture.
The course consists of 6 main units which include: Introduction to Agriculture, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Food Science, Natural Resources, and Plant Science.
8th Grade Agriculture
What you need to know about 8th Grade Ag:
8th Grade Agriculture is an elective course
The course is every other day for a full year
All students enrolled in 8th grade Agriculture will complete an SAE project.
An SAE Project is a career project that will help students gain career readiness skills and content knowledge in their interests.
The course will consist of 9 units which include: FFA & Leadership, SAE, Agribusiness, Animal Science, Food Science, Natural Resources, Plant Science, and Power Structural & Technical Systems
Middle School FFA
Meetings will be once per Month. Our FFA Open House for the 2023 school year is Monday, September 18th at 6:30pm in Portable 1. Please come out and join us to learn more about what FFA is and how it can benefit you!
