Waukee Theatre Arts is proud to present URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL, a witty, satirical, and hilarious production all about corporate greed, environmental sustainability, and a population fighting back for the right to pee for free!
After a twenty-year drought and severe water shortage, the government has made it illegal to pee for free. Instead, the evil corporation Urine Good Company (UGC) is forcing all citizens to pay to use public toilets. Anyone who dares to disobey will be shipped off to Urinetown, a mysterious place that no one has ever returned from. Tired of the tyranny of Caldwell B. Cladwell, head of UGC, the poor rise up in rebellion for the right to pee for free! Things become complicated when Bobby Strong, leader of the poor rebellion, falls in love with Hope Cladwell, the daughter of Caldwell B. Cladwell. Will Bobby follow his heart to be with Hope or look toward the sky to save his people?
URINETOWN: THE MUSICAL has music and lyrics by Mark Hollmann and book and lyrics by Greg Kotis. The show will be performed April 23-25 at 7:00pm and April 25 at 2:00pm. All performances are located at the Waukee High School Auditorium, and tickets can be purchased at SeatYourself.biz/WaukeeTheatreArts for $10.
