Waukee Theatre Arts kicks off their 2017 season with a performance of Peter and the Starcatcher on October 5th and 6th at 7:00 p.m. and October 8th at 2:00 p.m. in the Waukee Theatre Arts Center. Tickets are $7 and may be purchased at seatyourself.biz/waukeetheatrearts.
A grown up’s prequel to Peter Pan, Peter and the Starcatcher tells the story of an orphan boy (Kyler Johnson) whose world is turned upside down when he meets a young girl named Molly (Savannah Trotter). Together, they try to prevent a trunk full of magical Starstuff from getting into the hands of the evil pirate, Black Stache (Alayna Verduyn). This witty, creative, and imaginative story is sure to capture the hearts of grown-ups and children alike. The Waukee rendition is the first time the show has been performed in the Des Moines Metro Area, so you won’t want to miss it!
The play is written by Rick Elice and based on the novel by Dave Barry and Ridley Pearson. The show was originally produced on Broadway by Nancy Nagel Gibbs, Greg Schaffert, Eva Price, Tom Smedes, and Disney Theatrical Productions and includes music by Wayne Barker.
