How far would you go to protect your right to think?
In the small town of Hillsboro, Bertram Cates, a young schoolteacher, is on trial for reading from Charles Darwin’s “On the Origin of Species.” Three-time presidential candidate and religious leader, Matthew Harrison Brady, has come to town to prosecute the case. But when big city defense attorney Henry Drummond, and former friend to Brady, arrives to help Bert, sparks begin to fly. As the trial commences, the eyes of the world turn to watch as the verdict could have lasting implications on education around the country.
INHERIT THE WIND is a searing courtroom drama that examines what it means to think. Experience this fictitious account of 1925’s famous Scopes Monkey Trial. Presented on the 100 year anniversary of the events that inspired the play, this bold production is staged in the round in order to immerse you right in the heart of the action. Join us to see what happens when one man stands against a town to defend his right to think.
